From Saturday, 5 December City of Kwinana facilities and venues will be abiding by new contact tracing guidelines set by the State Government. Find out more.
The Zone Youth Space facilitates various programs and activities for youth (10-24) in the City. For information regarding memberships, administration opening times and rooms for hire, please see the Zone Youth Space page.
The City delivers and supports an exciting range of activities and programs all around Kwinana, with multiple options running every week.
There are activities out in our communities at parks and centres, including the centrally-located Zone Youth Space and Edge Skatepark. Activities have included bike building workshops in Wellard Square, cooking classes and table-top gaming at the Zone, skateboarding, scooter and parkour clinics and competitions at Edge Skatepark, girls group, LAN gaming competitions, basketball skills workshops and more.
City staff also help other organisations deliver programs, such as Nightfields outdoor ball sports on alternate Fridays, with Beatball basketball at the Recquatic Centre every other fortnight. We are keen to grow more activity partnerships and would love to hear from any parents or community groups keen to get involved in helping run activities for local young people in their suburb. If you'd like to be involved, please call the Zone on 9236 4550.
Some activities and programs have a leadership and development focus. More information on these can be found by visiting the Lyrik Program and Awards page.
For details on in-term and holiday activities, programs and events, follow the Zone's Facebook Page and Instagram, or call Zone Youth Space on 9236 4550. Most activities require registration and some have small attendance fees.
The Drop In service is a friendly and safe space for young people aged 12 to 18. Youth are welcome to ‘drop in’ to the Zone Louge at the Zone Youth Space to play computer and video games, have a game of pool, watch a movie or just chat with friends or staff. Some of our programs and activities will often run during the drop in times as well.
Drop-in is closed during public and school holidays, with set holiday program options provided instead. Follow the Zone's Facebook Page and Instagram for more information.
As well as being home to many youth activities and regular drop in sessions, the larger Zone Youth Space has hireable spaces and activity options. Sports teams hire the indoor airconditioned court for team trainings, schools and groups hire spaces for exhibitions, ceremonies and events and clubs hire activity rooms or multi-media rooms for programs and activities. On Friday nights and Satuday afternoons, Astroskate hires the roller skating rink for open public skate.
Our staff can even help plan and supervise a birthday party with a difference, a leadership progam for your local club, or anything from music workshops to LAN gaming parties or drone photography workshops!
Call Zone Youth Space on 9236 4550 to discuss our room options, availability and low hire rates, or visit the City’s hireable spaces page.
