The Kwinana Youth Volunteering Program connects young people aged 16 – 24 years to volunteer roles at City of Kwinana facilities including the Zone Youth Space, Kwinana Recquatic and Kwinana Public Library.

To participate in the Kwinana Youth Volunteering Program, you must be:
Volunteers will be asked to commit to 2 - 3 hours per week for six months. You are welcome to try different roles or stick with one role for longer.
Please note the Device Advice (Customer Enquiries) and Device Advice (Surveys) roles at the Kwinana Public Library have varying commitment – see specific roles below for hours.
If you are interested in applying for any of the Youth Volunteering Program roles please contact the Community Development Officer (Youth) by phone, email or in person.
Duties include: Prepare, cook, and serve dinner at the Zone Youth Space & clean up.
Role Requirement: Must have an interest in hospitality
Duties include: Prepare resources/snacks, assist staff and participants during the program & room set up and pack down.
Role Requirement: Must have an interest in working with young people (12 – 17 years)
Duties include: Assist Sports Supervisors and players during games, court set up and pack down, completing scorecards, admin (fixtures and scorecards) & cleaning equipment.
Role Requirement: Must have an interest in sports and recreation
Duties include: Assist Program Instructors and participants (children and parents) during the program, court set up and pack down & cleaning equipment.
Role Requirement: Must have an interest in working with children (12 years and younger)
Duties include: Assist Gym Instructors in the functional training, weights and cardio studios with Adult Pre-Exercise Screening System appointments and creating new workout programs for members, assist members with queries, shadow Gym Instructors during group fitness classes, set up and pack down for classes & clean equipment.
Role Requirement: Must have an interest in the fitness industry
*Please note you must provide Proof of Vaccination (minimum double vaccinated) to volunteer in the gym
Duties include: Assist Swimming School Instructors in the pool and on the deck during lessons, lesson set up and pack down & cleaning equipment.
Role Requirement: Must be able to swim
Duties include: Assist Lifeguards on deck and in the water (where appropriate), set up lanes, supervise the water, cleaning, toilet checks, and assisting customers.
Duties include: Assist customers with technology enquiries related to the Library such as computers, photocopying, emails.
Role Requirement: Must have an interest in, and knowledge of, technology
Duties include: Assist customers in small groups or individually with enquiries about common household technologies such as mobile phones and iPads.
Please note this role requires volunteers to be available for 1 hour, twice a week.
Duties include: Research and write instructions on how to solve common technology issues such as mobile phones and iPads.
Duties include: Complete short surveys with customers relating to common issues they may have with technology such as mobile phones and iPads.
Please note this role is short-term only (1 – 2 months).
