The Leadership, Youth and Respect in Kwinana (LYRiK) Program recognises the achievements of young people and provides mentoring opportunities to those aged 10 to 24 years who live, work or go to school in Kwinana. The LYRiK Program aims to develop leadership skills, financial, budgeting and goal setting skills, community-building skills, independence, confidence and resilience.

The LYRiK Scholarships Program offers twelve $1000 Scholarships to young people aged 16 – 24 years who live, work or go to school in Kwinana, have an employment or education goal they want to achieve and would benefit from mentoring.
Recipients will attend 4 x fortnightly mentoring sessions in May at the Zone Youth Space and can either be matched with a suitable mentor or apply with an existing mentor. The mentoring sessions will give recipients the opportunity to develop financial, budgeting and goal setting skills tailored to suit their needs and learn more about their field of interest from a mentor working in that area.
The program will offer two Scholarships each under six different categories:

When writing your application please provide detailed information about your mentor, career type, potential mentor type and any other additional information.
Please note: the application form can be completed by applicants or with assistance from another person. If needed, City staff are also available to help you complete your application form.
If you are keen to be part of the LYRiK Scholarships Program as a mentor we are taking Expressions of Interest from suitable community members.
