Find Your Fit Kwinana

Find Your Fit Kwinana is a social prescribing program to help people of all ages connect with local programs and activities tailored to suit individual interests and needs. The program will cover the cost of one activity a week for up to ten weeks. For more information about Find Your Fit Kwinana please contact:

Healthy Lifestyle Programs

The City delivers the following community health and fitness activities through its Healthy Lifestyles Program:

  • Outdoor Fitness for over 50’s
  • Yoga
  • Pilates
  • Mums Who Move
  • Dance-based Fitness
  • Outdoor Active in collaboration with the Recquatic

Koorliny Arts Centre

Koorliny Arts centre is an award-winning theatre and entertainment venue that presents shows, workshops and classes for the whole family, located in the heart City Centre.

Kwinana Public Library

Located within the Darius Wells Library and Resource Centre, Kwinana Public Library provides various services to the community. These include activities for children, online resources, a home library service, a toy library, and support for digital literacy

Kwinana Recquatic

Kwinana Recquatic is home to a state-of-the-art gym, fitness studios, courts, 25m lap pool, hydrotherapy pool, leisure pool, spa and steam room. The Recquatic offers a range of programs and classes to suit everyone and is open seven days a week.

Zone Youth Space

The Zone Youth Space is multi-faceted community engagement facility offering support services, and dedicated youth development opportunities within a safe environment for 12-24 year olds. Our dedicated Community Services and Partnerships Team, which includes the Zone Youth Team, Youth Development Officer, and Youth Engagement Officers, organizes a wide variety of activities, programs, events, and workshops every week, all year round. This includes school holiday programs and specialized support for young people.

  • The Zone team manages the Youth Advisory Council, Leadership awards, scholarships, and various other youth initiatives all year round. These efforts ensure that young people in Kwinana have a say and actively contribute to our community's development.

The Zone offers several facilities including a multipurpose court with air conditioning, the Kwinana Beats recording studio, meeting rooms, an activity/crafts room, a commercial kitchen, a youth drop-in lounge, and spaces available for office hire and hot-desking.

The Zone is home to support services such as:

  • Zone Drop in Service which offers a safe and welcoming environment for young people aged 12 to 17 years to enjoy after school activities and programs such as Kwinana Beats, Fighting Fit, Unique As, Deadly Yorgas and so much more
  • Youth Development opportunities provide leadership and growth chances for young people aged 12 to 24. These include the LYRiK Scholarships and Awards Program, the Kwinana Youth Advisory Council, a Youth Volunteering Program, and career-focused opportunities.
  • Kwinana Youth Services which offer light-touch referral and case management for young people in need of support - 12-18yo
  • SCALES community legal service – all ages
  • Palmerston drug and alcohol counselling service – all ages
  • Youth Focus youth counselling service - 12-18yo
  • Department of Education re-engagement for youth at risk of falling out of mainstream schooling - 12-18yo
  • Wungening Aboriginal Corporation counselling and community support service – all ages
  • Therapy Focus disability support service – all ages
  • Aboriginal Family Legal Service – National Redress Scheme applications and support services

The Zone is home to local sporting clubs including:

  • Kwinana Roller Hockey & Astroskate
  • Dread Pirate Rollers Roller Derby Club
  • West Coast Juniors Roller Derby Club
  • Kwinana United Futsal Club
  • Kwinana Saints Basketball Club

Ngala Child and Parent Centre - Calista

The Ngala Child and Parent Centre – Calista is an innovative, family-friendly space for parents with children pre-birth up to eight years old. Our team listens and responds to parents and the changing needs of families. We work with communities, local schools and organisations to provide inclusive, evidence-informed and evidence-based programs and services that enhance children’s development, increase community connection and support families. Our Ngala operated Child and Parent Centre, is known and respected for our parenting knowledge and approach to supporting families in the local community. The Child and Parent Centres are a State Government funded program.

All our activities and programs are free for Kwinana families. Services and supports available at and through the centre include:

  • Playgroups for various age groups
  • Specialised programs to support school preparation and transition
  • Maternal and child health services through allied health professionals
  • Early parenting groups Parenting sessions and programs such as Circle of Security, Triple P, Protective Behaviours, Sleep and Behaviour workshops
  • Family support services, parenting advice, resources and information
  • Access to the Ngala Parenting Line
  • Parent groups for LGBQTIA+ community
  • Support group for parents and carers of children with additional needs
  • Annual events such as NAIDOC, Book Week, Harmony Week and Children’s Week
  • Referrals to other services
