Retirement Villages and Units

The City of Kwinana offers two lifestyle villages to our senior residents.

Banksia Park Retirement Estate

Banksia Park Retirement Estate is a close-knit community for over 55’s in the quiet suburb of Calista. Located close to shopping, medical centres, library, aged care facility, Kwinana Recquatic and public transport.

Banksia Park offers a unique retirement lifestyle option in a secure, caring environment with a 24 hour emergency call system fitted to all villas and a caretaker service Monday to Friday.

The village has 78 villas (two and three bedrooms) that are offered on a 'lease for life' basis.

The Banksia Park Clubhouse is fully equipped with a gym, library, pool table, carpet bowls, card room, kitchen and many other features.

The Social Club Committee hosts activities including bingo, happy hour, special events, live entertainment and movie nights.

A monthly maintenance fee is payable to cover the operating costs of the village which include:

• grounds maintenance and gardening of all common areas;
• security;
• building maintenance; and
• clubhouse.

Callistemon Court Aged Person Units

Callistemon Court Aged Person Units is a Community Housing Program by the City of Kwinana.

The City offers affordable rental housing to people aged over 55 on a low to moderate income.

Eligibility

To be eligible for community housing at Callistemon court, applicants must meet the following criteria:​

• be an Australian citizen or permanent resident;
• be able to prove identity;
• live in and receive your income in WA;
• meet community housing income limits (which are subject to change annually);
• not own property or land;
• if you are over 55, but under 60, not have cash assets in excess of $38,400 (singles) or $63,800 (couples); and​
• if you are over 60, not have cash assets in excess of $80,000 (singles or couples).
