Request Building Records or Plans

Request approved building plans for your property from the City of Kwinana. Records date back to the 1970s, available in electronic or hard copy formats. Submit a form with a search fee, and receive results within 5–10 days. Only owners or authorized agents may request access. See fees and charges for details.

Building Records Availability and Search Process

The City of Kwinana can provide copies of approved building plans upon request.

What Plans Are Available?

The City has building records dating back to the 1970s, but not all approvals are on file. Some plans may be missing or damaged due to age. Records are stored in different formats, including:

  • Electronic scanned images
  • Hard copies
  • Offsite archives

The City will make every effort to locate your records, but cannot guarantee availability.

Who Can Request Plans?

Only the property owner or an authorised agent can view or request copies of building records.

How to Order

  1. Complete the Building Plan Request Form.​​ 
  2. Submit your request:
  3. Pay the required search fee (non-refundable).
  4. Once payment is received, the search will begin. Processing time is:
    • Up to 5 working days for residential properties
    • Up to 10 working days for commercial properties
