English Conversation Group
This group meets regularly at Kwinana Public Library and is for adults wanting to practice their English speaking and writing skills in a relaxed and friendly environment.

Read Write Now
Read Write Now is a volunteer group that provides free one-to-one assistance to adults wanting to improve their reading, writing, spelling, maths and/or IT skills. Volunteers regularly use the Library as a meeting place. Participants need to be permanent residents of Australia with reasonable spoken English.

Books created to assist people learning English can be borrowed from the Read Write Now collection in the Library. You can ask Library staff for help with finding these resources.
AMES Learn English
AMES Learn English courses is an online service you can access for free with a Library membership. AMES Learn English can help you gain the confidence and skills needed for further education and training, finding a job or simply learning to converse in English for day-to-day life in Australia.
Courses available: Living in Australia, World Wide English and Jobseekers Online.
Other services
Other services are also available to help with learning English. These are not provided by Kwinana Public Library, but Library staff can assist you to access technology to use them.
- Adult Migrant English Program (AMEP)
The Adult Migrant English Program helps eligible migrants learn English so they can participate socially and economically in Australia.
AMEP has a free English language learning website – AMEP Online.
These online resources are freely available for everyone, there are five different levels to explore and it is a self-paced program. - Skills for Education and Employment (SEE)
Skills for Education and Employment is an Australian Government program that delivers free language, literacy, numeracy and digital skills training to eligible Australians who are aged 15 years and over and no longer at school.
SEE is delivered by a national network of training providers. Visit SEE Providers to find a local provider.
