The City of Kwinana has a number of funding opportunities available to increase community participation.
This program helps individuals and teams who are selected to represent Kwinana at competitions, conferences or events—locally, across Australia or overseas.
To apply, you must be chosen by a recognised state or national organisation and provide a letter confirming this.
Funding helps cover the costs of attending the event.

You can apply for money to help with travel costs when going to a competition or event to represent Kwinana. The amount depends on where the event is:
Anyone who is selected to represent Kwinana at a regional, national or international event. This can be a sport, conference or another official event.
If you’re under 18, your parent or guardian must fill out the form.

You can apply any time of the year. But funding is limited, so once it runs out, applications will close.
Applications are made through the City of Kwinana’s SmartyGrants portal.
If your application is successful:
KidSport helps children in Western Australia join local sports clubs, even if their families don’t have much money.
If your child is between 5 and 18 years old, you can apply for help to pay for club fees.
KidSport applications are assessed by the local government where the child lives. If an application is approved, the person who applied will get an email with a voucher. The voucher code needs to be used when registering at your club.
Vouchers can be used as payment for registration, membership or participation fees. Sometimes vouchers can also be used for essential uniform and equipment costs.

If you live in Kwinana and have been chosen to represent Western Australia or Australia at a regional, national or international event, you can apply for money to help with travel and accommodation costs.
This is called an Individual Sports Donation.

The Australian Sporting Commission offers grants to help young people aged 12 to 18 who are competing, coaching or officiating at state, national or international sports events.
Please note: This is not run by the City of Kwinana, and has different rules and timelines.
