Rangers

Rangers are the City of Kwinana's local government local law enforcement service providing ranger and compliance service. Our service provides a 7 days a week response service to local government law enforcement matters, not already offered by the WA Police.

What can Rangers help with?

Animals
  • Dog or cat problems (not animal cruelty)
    • Dog attacks
    • Dog wandering
    • Nuisance barking
  • Livestock (like cows or horses) roaming on City roads or land
Parking
  • Parking problems on City roads, footpaths, parks, or verges
Litter and Dumping
  • Littering
  • Illegal dumping of rubbish
Safety and Security
  • Safety concerns in City parks, buildings, or public places
Fire Hazards
  • Firebreaks and bushfire safety
  • Burning permits
  • Large amounts of dry grass or bush on properties
Land Use and Compliance
  • Home business or illegal building issues
  • Large trucks or machinery parked in residential areas
  • Properties that are messy or overgrown
  • Storing damaged or wrecked vehicles
  • Verge issues like blocked paths or stored materials
Abandoned Vehicles
  • Cars left on City streets or verges (not private property)
Damage and Repairs
  • Report damage in City parks, roads, or buildings (after hours only)
Off-road Vehicles
  • Riding motorbikes or vehicles in City-owned parks or reserves
    (Note: Rangers do not handle hooning complaints)

What Rangers Cannot Help With

City of Kwinana Rangers do not respond to the following:

Private Property and Security
  • Security checks on private homes or business properties
  • Suspicious people, vehicles, or noise on private or non-City land
  • Parking or security issues on land not managed by the City
Road and Vehicle Issues
  • Hooning or dangerous driving
  • Motorbikes, scooters or unlicensed vehicles on roads, verges or paths
  • Off-road vehicle use on private land or roads
Neighborhood Matters
  • Disputes between neighbours
  • Personal safety concerns on non-City property
Animal Matters
  • Animal cruelty or neglect (animal welfare issues)
  • Requests for cat traps or reptile removal on private land
Other Issues
  • Anything not controlled by the local government

All these matters would require WA Police involvement or other state agency involvement.
