Did you get a packet of Pink and White Everlastings at the Childrens Festival? Here is how you can grow them.
Pink and White Everlasting (Rhodanthe chlorocephala)
Family – Asteraceae
Characteristics – Annual 20-60cm
Flowering Season – Late Winter to Spring
Best to sow the seeds directly in the ground during Autumn or Winter after the first good rains, or you can sow into a pot to move your everlastings around. If sowing in the ground scatter them over a weed-free area and rake them over lightly. Germination occurs 5-10 days after the rain. For mass planting sow 1g pr square metre.
This is a guideline, so there will be variation, as with all seeds they need adequate water to keep moist, you may also need to be vigilant of pests such as slugs and snails that like Everlasting Seedlings.
