Step 1: Notify Your Previous Council
Let your previous council know that your dog has moved out of their area.
Step 2: Confirm Your Current Registration
Ensure your dog’s registration (lifetime, three-year or one-year) is still valid. Registrations can be transferred between local councils within Western Australia free of charge.
Step 3: Complete the City of Kwinana Dog Registration Form

Step 4: Provide Proof of Current Registration
Attach a copy of your dog's existing registration certificate or renewal notice.
Step 5: Submit Your Application
Email your completed form and proof of registration to:
rangers@kwinana.wa.gov.au
or
Drop it off in person at the City's Administration Building, Corner Gilmore Avenue and Sulphur Road, Kwinana
Please note:
- The registration can only be transferred to the same owner listed on the current registration.
- Attach proof of concession card if applicable.
- Attach proof of sterilisation required if animal was unsterilised on previous registration.
- Any outstanding registration will be honoured and transfered to the City of Kwinana once forms are complete and verified with previous City/Shire.
