Kwinana Community Funding Program

The Kwinana Community Funding Program provides financial support to community groups within the City that meet the Program's objectives in facilitating community development.

About the Funding Program

The Kwinana Community Funding Program gives money to local community groups to help them run programs, events or projects that bring people together and build stronger communities.

This program is run by the City of Kwinana and Kwinana Community Chest.

Local groups can apply for up to $5,000 to help with things like:

  • Running workshops or training
  • Holding arts or cultural activities
  • Managing a local group
  • Buying small equipment such as sports gear, gardening tools, chairs, or a trailer

Groups can only receive one grant each financial year (July to June).

Assessment Process

When you apply for community funding, your application will be looked at by a group of four people. This group includes staff from the City of Kwinana and Kwinana Community Chest. They carefully review each application and decide which ones will receive funding.

Eligibility and How to Apply

Grants will only be considered if:

  • The applicant has current liability Insurance.
  • The program/purchase has meaningful benefits for the Kwinana Community
  • The Applicant has supplied quotes for all purchases over $500
  • The program/purchase takes place within the boundaries of the City of Kwinana
  • Applications are also strongly encouraged to indicate contributions made. Either by inKind (including volunteering) and or other sources of funding.
  • You have acquitted any previous funding applications given by the City of Kwinana
  • Please note any successful grants of $500 or more will be detailed on the City’s online register for a period of 5 years. Details will include name, brief description, amount awarded and acquital status.

How to Apply for Funding

To apply for funding, follow these simple steps:

  1. Register your group on the SmartyGrants online portal.
  2. Fill out the online application form in SmartyGrants.
  3. Include quotes and any other documents needed to support your application.
