Small Landowners (Horses and Livestock)

The Environmental Management Guidelines for Horse Facilities and Activities represent the end point in developing environmental guidelines for horse activities in Western Australia. Drafts of this document as a discussion paper were made available for comment to a cross section of stakeholders within the horse industry. The purpose of the document is to:

  • promote awareness of the environmental issues related to horse activities;
  • provide advice for the development and assessment of new or upgraded stables and yards; and
  • encourage the adoption of best management practices to protect the environment.

The Stocking Rates for Small Rural Holdings document provides guidance for planners, developers, local authorities and land owners seeking to determine the stocking rates for small rural holdings on the Swan Coastal Plain and Darling Scarp.
