Multicultural Communities

The City of Kwinana is home to many people from diverse cultures with a wealth of cultural knowledge and skills that enhance and strengthen our community.

Kwinana is predicted to rapidly increase the size of its multicultural communities in the coming years as our population grows and the City develops.

The 2021 Census showed just how culturally diverse the City has become with 39.6% of residents being born overseas in countries such as England, Philippines, New Zealand and India. It also showed that the top three non-English languages spoken in Kwinana are Tagalog, Punjabi and Filipino, and that 24.5% of households use a non-English language.

In 2024 we will establish a new Multicultural Advisory Group with community members willing to take action and make things happen in Kwinana.

The aim is to gather an inter-generational group of young people, adults and elders from across the City and from diverse cultural backgrounds to work together on common goals that embrace the strengths of cultural diversity.

To apply for the Multicultural Advisory Group please complete the online Application Form before 12 May.
