The City of Kwinana is excited to install two new recycling hubs thanks to a collaboration with the South Metropolitan Regional Council (SMRC). The Hubs are located at the Darius Wells Library and Resource Centre and the Kwinana Marketplace.

The idea for the recycling hubs came from the SMRC's Community Advisory Group, WREN (Waste, Recycling, Education Network) and with the help of a community grant they were able to work with the Men's Shed in Fremantle to create these recycling hubs to share with the member councils of the SMRC.

Mayor Carol Adams said each recycling hub provides a drop off and collection point for numerous household items. The items include household batteries, printer cartridges, mobile phones and chargers and household lights. All items that can't be placed in your green or yellow topped bins.

"The City of Kwinana is proud to be the first Council as part of the SMRC to install these recycling hubs."

"Local residents can now easily recycle these household items which may have previously been sent to landfill," she said.
