Sloan’s Reserve in Leda will transform into a community festival on 23 March with live entertainment and cuisines from 4:30pm to 7:30pm celebrating Kwinana’s cultural diversity.
Presented by Wesfarmers Chemicals, Energy and Fertilisers, Mayor Peter Feasey said Summer Sounds in Leda would include Indonesian Fusion, Mbria of Zimbabwe plus the Mucho's Mariachi band, Bollywood stilt walkers, and the incredible LED Chinese Lion and Dragon dancers.
“Join us at the Summer Sounds in Leda as we celebrate the rich range of cultures that make our community vibrant and unique,” Mayor Feasey said.
“Experience a journey around the world with a diverse selection of international cuisines from the food trucks or purchase a Food Passport for $10 to get a sample of Gozleme, Butter Chicken, Fiesta Manila, Bao, and a Damper Scone.
“Engage in hands-on experiences with interactive workshops featuring cultural crafts, such as origami and calligraphy, or grab a native tea and listen to local Aboriginal elders share their stories of the land.
“I encourage nearby residents to grab a picnic blanket and walk or cycle down for this local event,” he said.
The festival will embrace eco-friendly practises and accessibility for patrons.
