Councillors and the City’s Executive will gather at the Ngook Boorn Mia-Mia / Honeywood Pavilion, the City’s newest community facility in Wandi, to hold community conversations and a Council meeting outside of the usual Council Chambers environment.
Mayor Carol Adams said the opening of the pavilion adjacent to Honeywood Oval provided a great opportunity for the Council to visit various parts of the City of Kwinana in an effort to bring Council to the community.
“In honour of the recent opening of the pavilion to the public, the Council will host a community event offering acoustic music, lawn games, 100 free ice creams and a free sausage sizzle by the Kwinana Youth Advisory Council from 4.30pm,” Mayor Adams said.
“During this time, community members will have the opportunity to pop in anytime between 4.30pm and 6pm to meet their Councillors ahead of the 6pm Council meeting.
“We would certainly welcome any members of the public who attend the event to remain behind for the full Council meeting,” she said.
City staff will also be on hand at the event to discuss what they are working on in the community and hear any local issues and priorities.
Mayor Carol Adams said it was exciting to have the pavilion now available for public use, including much-awaited external public toilets which are now available for patrons of the busy adjacent playground.
Ngook Boorn Mia-Mia / Honeywood Pavilion’s various facilities and function rooms are now available for public bookings via SpacetoCo.
