Kwinana Community Awards nominations now open
8 December 2023

The reinstated Kwinana Community Awards will recognise outstanding groups and individuals in the City of Kwinana.

The Kwinana Community Awards are back to shine a spotlight on the incredible individuals and groups who make our community thrive, with four awards available.

Mayor Peter Feasey encouraged people to nominate an unsung hero for Kwinana Person of the Year; Kwinana Senior Person of the Year; Kwinana Aboriginal Person of the Year; or Kwinana Group of the Year.

“Kwinana Community Awards recognise and celebrate the outstanding individuals and groups who have made significant contributions and demonstrated commitment, leadership or dedication to the community,” Mayor Feasey said.

“Now is the time to celebrate those who make a real impact.

“The awards are open to anyone in the Kwinana community and prizes include a certificate, trophy, $250 gift voucher and name on the perpetual honour boards in the Library.

“A $600 grant for the winner’s chosen club or organisation will also form part of the prize for a capacity building project or small equipment purchases,” Mayor Feasey said.

A $1000 contribution will also be given to an award ceremony or celebration to be arranged with the City of Kwinana for each winner.

Please note that self-nominations or nominations by a family member will not be considered.

Nominate through the Love My Kwinana website or for nomination form hardcopies please call Chloe George on 9439 0419 or email ceadmin@kwinana.wa.gov.au

All nominations must be submitted by 5pm Wednesday 31 January 2024 and will be announced in March.

Young people will be recognised later in the year through the City’s annual LYRiK Awards program.
