Business Grants and Funding

The City offers grants and rebates applicable to local business as well as promoting and sharing information about grants from external organisations and government agencies.

Business Support Grants

The City of Kwinana offers Business Support Grants to support small local businesses to grow and prosper. Business Support Grants are currently closed for applications. Subscribe to the Thrive Business Bulletin for updates about the next round.

Eligible expenses can include:

  • Physical upgrades
  • Security features
  • Boosting online presence
  • Professional development

This grant helps business owners invest in improvements and encourages them to use local businesses and services for the work. Eligible expenses, such as physical upgrades, security features, boosting online presence, or professional development, can be reimbursed up to $1,000. Funds are provided once a final paid invoice is submitted.

The application process is managed through the City of Kwinana’s SmartyGrants portal.

Applicants FAQs

The following local businesses are eligible to apply for funding:

Retail Business Application

A shop, local shop, liquor store, health studio, eating house, fish shop, tavern, showroom or trade display as defined by Local Planning Scheme No.2. Essentially this means businesses that have a retail trade component and are located in the City of Kwinana.

Home-based Business Application

A business that is operated from the dwelling/private residence of the business owner within the City of Kwinana and has been in business for at least 12 months at the time of application.

Kwinana Grants Hub

The Kwinana Grants Hub is a comprehensive list of grants available within the City of Kwinana. Here you will be able to access grants open to local businesses, community groups, not-for-profits, and individuals.
