Upgrade for Kwinana tennis courts

The Kwinana Tennis Courts are set to ace the competition after a recent upgrade.

The $50,000 upgrade, funded by the City of Kwinana and undertaken by PlayMaker Sports, saw the aged and cracked court surface replaced with durable rebound ace material and new net poles installed.

The upgrades commenced in April and were completed on 5 May, providing a more functional space for the local tennis community. Further upgrades are planned including new fencing with the Tennis Club itself planning to erect shade sails, install bi-fold doors and improve window treatments to the club rooms, with the assistance of the Community Development Fund.

Kwinana Mayor Carol Adams said the courts look fantastic. Sporting facilities are important community assets and this upgrade demonstrates Council’s ongoing commitment to providing excellent facilities for the public.

“We are a sporting community and having tennis courts of this quality in our city is a tremendous community asset and puts us in a better position to be able to further support junior development,” Mayor Adams said.
