Major Projects

How far we've come

Kwinana is a ‘hyper-growth’ city and one of the fastest growing communities in the entire country.

In the next decade there will be over 7,000 new homes constructed and by 2030 our population will have more than doubled.

Major infrastructure projects have been in progress for many years and many more are planned for the coming decades.

Projects from recent years include the iconic Darius Wells Library and Resource Centre, the John Wellard Community Centre, the William Bertram Community Centre, the Marketplace Shopping Centre, residential developments and new roads and footpaths.

Most recently, the community welcomed the addition of the $5.2 million Kwinana Adventure Park; a venue which has been celebrated as Perth's best new playground.

All of this work is essential in preparing for the thousands of existing and new residents who will call Kwinana home.

Current infrastructure projects

Moving forward, Kwinana residents can look forward to a plethora of exciting new developments, including the Outdoor Youth Space, currently under construction on Calista Oval, as well as major beautification of suburbs like Medina.

We are also investing heavily in safety and security, with the recent introduction of the City Assist initiative and a comprehensive CCTV program being rolled out across the City.
