The Kwinana Volunteer Centre is a central point in the community for information on all things relating to volunteering. Individual organisations have different requirements for their volunteers. If you’re volunteering around children, a WA Working with Children check is compulsory. While a National Police Clearance isn’t essential, it’s often preferred by employers.
As a volunteer, you’ll also need to comply with any visa restrictions.
To apply to volunteer, you can visit the Kwinana Volunteer Centre or complete and send in the Volunteer application form (also available from outside the Volunteer Centre, Monday to Friday).

Unlike paid staff, volunteers are not covered by award or workplace agreements. Volunteers do have rights - some through legislation and some that could be considered the moral obligation of an organisation involving volunteers.
