Composting and Worm Farm workshops

The City of Kwinana hosts free Composting and Worm Farm Workshops. Learn more about recycling your organic waste and reducing the amount of waste sent to landfill.

The individual composting and worm farm workshops also provide residents with the exclusive opportunity to gain a rebate for purchasing composting bins and a highly discounted Worm Cafe. Attendance of a workshop is required to be eligible for the rebate of $60 when buying twin 220L compost bins, as well as proof of purchase and residence.

Bokashi

The City has introduced Bokashi (in-home) composting buckets as an alternative option for residents with limited space to manage household organic waste and avoid waste to landfill.

The Bokashi buckets and Bokashi mix (1 bucket and 1 bag of mix per household) will be available at half the regular purchase price for residents at the City of Kwinana’s customer service desk in the Administration Building.

Mulch

Prunings and green waste delivered to the City of Rockingham landfill facility is recycled into mulch. This mulch is available free to the public, however residents are responsible for loading it themselves.

Contact City of Rockingham on 9528 8550 to check availability.
