Easter Long Weekend Opening Hours

Please be advised that the City administration building and several City facilities, including the Darius Wells Library and Resource Centre, will be closed for the Easter long weekend from Friday, 18 April through to Monday, 21 April (inclusive). 

Bins will not be collected on Good Friday (Friday, 18 April), residents impacted are advised to place their bins out on Saturday, 19 April by 6am. Collection for Easter Monday (Monday, 21 April) and the ANZAC Day Public Holiday (Friday, 25 April) remain unchanged, for any enquiries please contact 1300 293 955.

Youth Services

Kwinana Youth Services offers a confidential support service for young people aged 12 – 18, living or attending school in the Kwinana area. Services include; case management, advocacy, outreach, support, referrals to external support services, access to workshops and holiday programs and informal mentorship.

Town Teams are positive and proactive community groups that work collaboratively with their local government to improve a place or area. The Town Team approach is inclusive. It is open to businesses, landowners, residents and anyone else who wants to improve their place. There are active Town Teams in Wellard and Aspley

A Resident’s Group or Progress Association consists of people who live in a particular area and come together to discuss matters important to that area. Members generally live in that area. There are currently Resident's Groups in Wandi and Medina.

Are you Bushfire Ready?

In accordance with the City’s Fire Notice, fire breaks must be installed and maintained in rural areas from 1 December up to and including 31 May. Urban areas must comply with the fire notice all year round.

Senior Subsidies and Rebates

Senior citizens living in Kwinana are eligible for a number of rebates. Collectively, these rebates create a safer community by supporting in improving security in their place of residence and by safeguarding those who are at risk of becoming lost due to due to conditions such as dementia, autism or a cognitive impairment.

In accordance with the Building Act 2011 building permit is required for all swimming pools, outdoor spas where they contain water to depth greater than 300mm.
