The Kwinana Adventure Park has cemented itself as one of Perth’s most popular family destinations. But there were many hurdles to overcome before this incredible facility could become a reality.
This brief timeline gives a glimpse into the many steps involved in a project of this scale.
The Rotary Club of Kwinana
approaches the City with the idea for a children’s adventure playground. The Rotary Club were integral to the project's initial development.
Following extensive preliminary discussions, research and planning, the project is endorsed by Council.
Detailed research is undertaken to assist the City in securing external funding.
The Federal Government commits $2million toward the project – a pivotal turning point.
2013 to 2014
Comprehensive community consultation and design planning is undertaken.
The tender for detailed design is awarded to Josh Byrnes and Associates, in partnership with Jeavons Landscape Architects. Detailed and specific project planning commences.
Construction contract is awarded to Environmental Industries, the sod is turned and the works officially begin.
The Kwinana Adventure Park is opened to great celebration and rave reviews. To this day it remains one of the most visited playgrounds throughout Western Australia.
