The Kwinana Public Library will have two spin bike desks available for use from Tuesday, 4 June.
Mayor Carol Adams said that the spin bikes were a perfect way to incorporate physical and mental wellbeing.
"These spin bike desks are easy to use and are a lot of fun," said Mayor Adams.
"More importantly, they're a great way for people who are time poor, people who can't exercise outdoors or for those who have difficulty sitting still whilst reading," she said.
The bikes will initially be available for use at the library and will eventually make their way across Kwinana, visiting community centres and community-based events held throughout the year.
"This initiative will encourage our residents to think about ways they can incorporate physical activity into their days," said Mayor Adams.
"They are one of many ways the City offers free services to the community to support healthy lifestyles," she said.
The bikes are virtually silent and will not cause disruption to other library users. They have been designed to be used for reading and listening to audiobooks, as well as creating small puzzles or using personal devices.
More information about the spin bike desks can be obtained from the Kwinana Public Library on (08) 9236 4320.
