The Perth Symphony Orchestra is returning on Saturday, 1 December to perform the biggest and best concert Kwinana has ever seen.
In 2017, the Perth Symphony Orchestra broke all the rules at Kwinana's Act-Belong-Commit Rock Symphony, which featured hits from Nirvana, Metallica, James Bond and Pharrell.
This year the 55-piece orchestra is back to perform the ultimate music experience for all ages in a friendly surrounding, under the stars, on Calista Oval.
Kwinana Mayor Carol Adams said the City was thrilled to have the world-class performers returning to Kwinana.
"The huge popularity and success of last year's concert gave us no choice but to ask the Perth Symphony Orchestra to return," Mayor Adams said.
"We asked them to deliver an even bigger and better concert in 2018 and we are certain they will meet that challenge with passion and vigour," she said.
Bourby Webster, Founder and Executive Director, Perth Symphony Orchestra, said that taking music out of inner Perth venues and into peoples' backyards is a key mission of the Perth Symphony Orchestra.
"We are so excited to be welcomed back by the Kwinana community in 2018," said Ms Webster.
"Our diverse program of rock, pop and film music has the power to connect people in ways they never imagined and is perfect for friends and family of all ages," she said.
The Tianqi Lithium Symphony Spectacular is a free event made possible thanks to generous sponsors Tianqi Lithium, CSBP, Kleenheat, Fremantle Ports and the Kwinana Industries Council.
"Kwinana is our local community too and we are so pleased that we can help provide our neighbours with a free world-class concert right in their backyard," said Mr Phil Thick, General Manager of Tianqi Lithium.
"We loved what the Perth Symphony Orchestra did with the Act-Belong-Commit Rock Symphony last year and can't wait to see what they have in store for the people of Kwinana this year at the Tianqi Lithium Symphony Spectacular," he said.
Food trucks will be available or bring along a picnic with a rug and chairs. Responsible BYO alcohol will be permitted. The City is also providing free shuttle services to and from Kwinana and Wellard Train Stations on the night.
More information about the Tianqi Lithium Symphony Spectacular can be found by joining the event on the City's Facebook page.
