The Kwinana Youth Advisory Council is open for new applications in June each year. Each new KYAC year will begin with a Leadership Day for all member. This will be a chance to get to know each other, share your passions, perspectives and plan for the year. Across the year, YAC members will receive training in, and organise, youth events and place making activities across Kwinana and consult on issues important to young people. The Kwinana Youth Advisory Council is open to any young person who lives, or goes to school, in the City of Kwinana and is aged between 14 – 24 years. When applications open a link will be available on this page, check back in June. This is also an opportunity for young people to check out what youth specific events or initiative KYAC have coming up that they can get involved in.
We are excited to share with you a project that the Kwinana Youth Advisory Council have been working extremely hard on.
The Kwinana Youth Leaders Youth Forum will be at the Koorliny Arts Centre on March 25th from 9am to 2pm for Years 7 to 10. This forum will bring together young people from across Kwinana for a day of keynote speakers, workshops and a Q&A panel discussion. Morning tea and lunch will be catered. The workshops will have a theme of leadership covering areas from sports, inclusion and diversity, teamwork and leadership, environment and sustainability and community involvement and action. How to Apply
Applications for the Kwinana Youth Advisory Council will now be accepted once a year. Anyone wanting to join or continue with the group will need to apply each year.
To apply for a position on the Youth Advisory Council please complete the application form on Love My Kwinana. Applications for 2024/25 close on Sunday 7 July.
The LYRiK Program for 2024 is now open for applications and nominations. The Kwinana Youth Advisory Council will host the LYRiK Awards Ceremony on June 19th from 5pm at the Koorliny Arts Centre.
