Our organisational culture is something that we actively work on and are very proud of at the City of Kwinana.
We demonstrate our culture through staff-driven cultural optimisation groups, reward and recognition initiatives, innovation teams, staff value reviews, and the occasional celebratory ice cream van.
The City's culture has been measured using the Human Synergistics organisational cultural change program. Our latest results showed:
- Satisfaction has doubled
- Motivation has doubled
- Job security has increased
- Decrease in aggressive / defensive behaviours by over 50%.
- Decrease in passive / defensive behaviours by over 50%.
- Increase in constructive behaviours by close to 50%.
The City of Kwinana's culture is in line with the top 10 per cent of the most constructive cultures within Local Government in Australia and NZ – that’s out of more than 600 local governments!
