Community Safety Series shares subsidies for safer City

The Community Safety Series returns in October to create a safer City with a range of events and subsidies on offer.

Community safety returns as the focus for October with a series of workshops, subsidies and conversations dedicated to improving safety across the City.

Mayor Peter Feasey said encouraged residents to make the most of the subsidies on offer this month to better protect their homes, families and even parcels.

“Community safety involves all of us so we’re offering once again a CCTV subsidy, parcel letterbox subsidy, Street Meets grants and Secure PL8 Subsidy in October.

“We’re hosting an online Scam Safety Webinar, Digital Child Workshop and multiple Device Advice sessions, plus snake safety for under fives at the Kwinana Public Library.

“You can register for the Outdoor Community Movie night showing Shrek at Calista Oval, with free popcorn and lawn games, on Friday, 2 October in celebration Community Safety Month.

“Of course, it’s Halloween at the end of the month so there will be a 3km family guided bike ride with a Halloween twist on 31 October, inviting dressed-up bikes while learning some basic bike maintenance.

“Keep an eye out on our socials for various pop-up events and Community Conversations across the City throughout the month, including Wellard Woolworths, Local Farmers Market and Kwinana Marketplace.

“Community safety remains a high priority for our residents and we are thrilled to once again deliver a jam-packed month of opportunities to create a safer city,” he said.
