Danjoo Ngalang Maara means the coming together of our hands - we need your help to shape a Reconciliation Strategy for our community.
Reconciliation is about building respectful relationships between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and non‑Aboriginal people.
At a local level, it means recognising and respecting local Aboriginal histories and cultures, listening to Aboriginal voices, and embedding these perspectives into how we plan, deliver service and make decisions as an organisation to support a fair, inclusive, and welcoming community.
On our journey to date, we’ve actioned two Reconciliation Action Plans but we’re doing things a little differently because we want this Reconciliation Strategy to genuinely belong to our community.
Through a community led approach, we aim to ensure this Strategy reflects the heart, history, and aspirations of our local area.
Building a future grounded in meaningful reconciliation is a journey we take together, and your voice is central to that journey.
We want to hear from you: What does reconciliation look like in our community? Where should our focus be, and how can we work together to create lasting change? Your insights will directly shape and co‑design our new Strategy.

The consultation for this locally-led Strategy considers five themes:
Culture and Country
What makes you feel proud about Aboriginal culture and Country in Kwinana?
Community Partnerships
What does working together in a good way look like to you?
Jobs and Opportunities
What opportunities would you like to see more of in Kwinana?
Youth and Wellbeing
What helps our young people thrive?
Decision‑Making and Accountability
How can we make sure the City listens and follows through?
