A popular lights installation of 29 years on McNairn Cross in Leda was dubbed the people’s favourite in the City’s inaugural Christmas Lights Trail.
Mayor Peter Feasey said the Christmas Lights Trail recorded a total of 5800 visits, with 30 homes registered to be featured on the trail.
“Engagement was particularly high on Christmas Eve with 345 views of the trail’s webpage alone,” Mayor Feasey said.
“This trail was all about fostering connection and spreading Christmas joy across the City and we are delighted to share its success.”
The trail was supported by two award categories including a People’s Choice Award ($250 voucher) and a Random Draw Prize ($100).
“The Coore family in Leda have been putting up a Christmas Wonderland as a walk-through interactive experience, complete with an appearance by Santa and face painter on Christmas Eve,” Mayor Feasey said.

Jennifer Coore said the display took her family months to install, and it fundraised for the Royal Flying Doctor Service.
“Meanwhile Wellard’s Reindeer Lane, displayed by Paula Lane and her family, is a great example of how even a smaller frontage can inspire neighbours and enthrall children so we are thrilled to reward displays of all sizes with this random draw,” Mayor Feasey said.

He congratulated both winners and looked forward to a bigger and better Christmas Lights Trail this year, encouraging people to stay informed of when the trail opens for registrations at https://www.lovemykwinana.com/kwinana-christmas-lights-trail
