Living Green is an annual series spanning three months, dedicated to inspiring sustainability in Kwinana.

Mayor Peter Feasey said the line up this year included a doubled seedling subsidy to help meet community demand, community planting events, and a children’s clothing swap at the Kwinana Public Library on April 17 from 9am to 12pm.

“This is a great season to support home gardening, reduce waste and care for our natural environment,” he said.

Held from April to June, the Living Green series is designed to help Kwinana residents take simple, practical steps towards a more sustainable lifestyle.

“People can also have a go at the mending machine – a bike that sews as you peddle, help clear our local park areas of weeds, learn how to grow native gardens or create a worm farm, plus much more,” Mayor Feasey said.

“We also have the Love Where you Live Subsidy open until 1 June, with two tiers of funding now available in 2026.

“This subsidy of either $400 or $200 will help you transform your front verge or garden into thriving native garden for the neighbourhood, boosting diversity and strengthening community pride,” he said.

The Native Seedling Subsidy is also bigger than ever in 2026 thanks to additional funding through Conservation Volunteers Australia's Urban Shade Forest initiative. The Urban Shade Forest initiative is supported by founding partner Chevron Australia, Chevron’s premium fuel brand Caltex and supported locally by the City of Kwinana. This seedling subsidy opens 8 May.

More details about Living Green are available on the City’s Facebook page, and the kids clothing swap is for 0-12 year olds.
