A Summer Sounds concert will be held in Wellard for the first time, bringing live entertainment in a free family-friendly event to wrap up the Summer Sounds season.

The City of Kwinana is excited to announce that Summer Sounds is coming to Wellard for the first time, featuring three-piece post-modern party band Monty Cotton and the Threads.

The free family-friendly event will be held on McWhirter Oval on Saturday, 15 February, packed with a wide array of food trucks from which to buy dinner, and live entertainment for all the family including line dancing!

“I encourage you to bring a picnic blanket and walk or cycle down to McWhirter Oval for this local event,” Mayor Peter Feasey said.

“Join your neighbours in this family-friendly evening with food trucks on site offering Italian street food, gozleme, bao buns and super-sized spring rolls through to crème brulees, gluten-free donuts and more!

“We look forward to bringing Summer Sounds to a new location thanks to the support of sponsor Lotterywest as a fitting finale to our busy Summer Sounds concert series which also featured free concerts in Leda and Bertram late last year,” he said.

The venue is wheelchair accessible, with accessible parking and restrooms available.

Residents are encouraged to walk or cycle to the event, with limited parking available at Wellard Primary School’s carparks on Jasper Bend, Breccia Parade, and the corner of Irasburg Parade and McWhirter Promenade.
