The LYRiK Awards, held on Wednesday 19 June 2024 recognised outstanding young individuals in Kwinana, culminating in the prestigious Carol Adams Young Person of the Year award presented to Stephanie Beaumont.

After multiple independent nominations, the assessment panel unanimously decided to name Stephanie Beaumont as the Carol Adams Young Person of the Year.
Mayor Peter Feasey praised Ms. Beaumont for her exceptional leadership and commitment to the community.

"Stephanie has showcased exemplary leadership skills through her active volunteering, involvement in school activities, and university leadership roles," Mayor Feasey said.

"She has achieved the Silver Duke of Edinburgh Award and participated in a wide range of activities, volunteering, and program delivery for her peers at Peter Carnley Anglican Community School (PCACS). She is also a vital member of the Kwinana Youth Advisory Council, consistently supporting and uplifting others," the Mayor added.
"Stephanie has played a crucial role in numerous City of Kwinana events, consultations, and programs, always seeking opportunities to help others develop new skills and elevate their voices. Currently a university student at the University of Western Australia, pursuing a double degree, she continues to volunteer and mentor young people," the Mayor said.

The Carol Adams Young Person of the Year Award, newly named this year in honour of former Mayor Carol Adams, recognises a young person who has made significant contributions to the community. Stephanie's dedication and passion for empowering her peers make her a deserving recipient of this prestigious award.
