Lolly Run delivers a sweet Christmas to Kwinana

Lolly Run delivers a sweet Christmas to Kwinana
5 December 2023

The City of Kwinana’s beloved annual Christmas Lolly Run, sponsored by the Kwinana Industries Council, will celebrate the season of giving this year with more than 35,000 pre-pack lolly bags given to local children over seven evenings from 17 to 23 December 2023.

The Lolly Run will see four trucks and over 100 volunteers take to the streets of Kwinana handing out festive cheer in the form of lollies. Residents are urged to listen out for the beeps and music trucks between 4.30pm and 8.30pm on the night when the Lolly Run is in the individual suburb, or live track from the City of Kwinana website’s Lolly Run page to see where it is located.

Mayor Peter Feasey said the Lolly Run was a unique event, exclusive to the City of Kwinana, that had been about community spirit and building connections for over 65-years.

“This annual tradition isn't just about sharing lollies; it's about spreading joy and building connections within our tight-knit community. Volunteers generously give their time to make this event a success, by creating magical moments that are treasured by young and old.

“In the lead up to the Lolly Run the Kwinana community can further get into the festive spirit by visiting Chisham Square to take a captivating photo with one of the four dazzling light installations including a Santa Bear, a giant Kangaroo, the sparkling archway and of course a Christmas tree,” Mayor Feasey said.

The City of Kwinana wants everyone to have a great time, but also to remind the community that road safety is important, so during the event please be mindful that the trucks are moving so please stand back from the edge of the road, ensure children and pets are supervised at all times, stay on the footpath and be aware of other vehicles on the road.
