Kwinana residents love living green and to celebrate the City of Kwinana will be rolling out its annual Living Green Series over three jam-packed months.

The City of Kwinana’s annual Living Green Environment Series launches in April for three months filled with workshops, events, and subsidies to help Kwinana residents live a little greener.

Mayor Carol Adams said this year’s program covers ways to be living green at home, in the community and for the planet.

“The popular seedling subsidy program and night stalk event will return, along with the Living Smart Workshop Series to inspire sustainable changes in the home and community with handy tips on waste reduction, simple living, energy and water conservation, growing your own food, and more,” Mayor Adams said.

“Planting days and verge makeover workshops are also part of the series and Living Green participants will have the opportunity to add their pledge to the Living Green Tree that will be housed in the Kwinana Public Library.

“Council also recently adopted the Local Biodiversity Strategy on March 22 which strengthens the City’s commitment to identify, protect and conserve areas of high ecological value.

“One of the outcomes determined by the community through the Strategic Community Plan is a naturally beautiful environment that is enhanced and protected,” she said.
