The City of Kwinana’s events season kicks off with two major events during October with Kwinana Summer Sounds Concert in the Park on 8 October and Spooky Saturday @ The Zone on the 29 October 2022.
Kwinana Summer Sounds is a free, family-friendly, concert style event being held at Honeywood Oval (Honeywood Primary School) in Wandi from 5pm to 8pm. Community members are invited to bring a picnic blanket and enjoy a range of kids activities, food trucks and special performances by throwback 90’s duo Claire Fahie and Jordan Anthony, solo-spectacular Ari Davis and indigenous (Maori) performers from New Zealand, Ngaru Pou. Summer Sounds will then be followed by Spooky Saturday being held at The Zone on Saturday, 29 October from 5pm to 8pm. The drug and alcohol-free event will feature three different areas including the MYSTERY MAZE (all ages), Youth VIP Scare Zone (aged 14-24) and the Monster Mayhem Dance Party (all ages). Community members are invited to come dressed to impress in their best Halloween-style costume. City of Kwinana Mayor, Carol Adams said that the City’s community events had certainly been impacted by Covid-19 over the past years and it was great that the City was now able to present an exciting events season to be enjoyed by all Kwinana residents. “Summer Sounds Concert in the Park and Spooky Saturday at the Zone are just the first two events to commence the City’s events season for the 2022/23 summer,” Mayor Adams said. “The Kwinana community can expect a full events schedule this summer featuring not only these events but also, Get in the Grove! Food truck series coming on Saturday, 19 November, Light Up the Square Christmas lights event on Friday 2 December and of course what is a Kwinana events season without its annual Lolly Run running from the 17 to the 23 December 2022. “The new year will then bring even more events including a youth movie night, Summer Sounds Bertram, Alcoa Children’s Festival and OMG!
