Background

I have lived in Kwinana for over 25 years and I am very passionate about the City. I was first elected to Council in May 1997, elected Deputy Mayor in 2005 and became the [then] Town's first female Mayor in May 2006.

I have a keen interest in the careful economic development of Kwinana and improving the local image and ensuring we have excellent facilities and services available for our growing and diverse community to use and enjoy. I was part of the leadership team that assisted in the planning and delivery of the $300M City Centre Redevelopment Project.

I hold a Bachelor of Laws and practiced in most jurisdictions until July 2011 when I transitioned to the important role of full time Mayor. I am a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

In 2011 I was awarded a Long and Loyal Service Award from the WA Local Government Association and in June 2019 I was awarded the Order of Australia Medal (General Division), in recognition of my services to the community of Kwinana and the economic development of Perth as a member of several key boards and committees.

I am proud to be patron of the Kwinana Swimming Club and the Kwinana “Old Flames” (Kwinana High School) Alumni.
