The Unrestricted Burning Period is in effect. Residents in rural zoned areas can burn at any time without a permit, but must do so safely and responsibly. The City of Kwinana offers two lifestyle villages to our senior residents.
Banksia Park is a friendly and quiet place to live for people aged 55 and over. It is located in Calista, close to shops, doctors, library, aged care, Kwinana Recquatic and public transport. Banksia Park gives residents a safe and comfortable lifestyle. There are 78 independent living villas in the village, with two or three bedrooms.
Our retirement villa’s are available to purchase through Lease for Life arrangements. This lease gives you occupation rights for your retirement home and the ability to use the facilities until you decide to leave. There are also a monthly maintenance fee and an exit payment fee when you vacate the village.
The Deferred Management Fee (or exit fee) is a traditional contract model when you buy into a Lease for Life Village. It is a percentage of costs paid back to the Village Owner at time of vacation of your unit. The DMF allows the Village Owner to reinvest back into the village.
Each residence contributes a proportion of money to the village operating budget, paid on a monthly basis know as a monthly maintenance fee or recurrent charge. These charges go towards the running of the village on an ongoing basis and include Grounds Maintenance, Building Maintenance, Energy Costs, Building Insurance, Water Usage, Security and village staff.

Callistemon Court is Community Housing rental units for seniors, run by the City of Kwinana. It offers low-cost independent living rental units for people aged 55 and over who are on a low or moderate income.
Please note: The waitlist is currently closed. If you can afford to buy at Banksia Park then you are not eligible to rent at Callistemon.
