Are you parenting in a culture different to your upbringing, or seeking ways to balance cultural differences between you and your partner?

This FREE workshop is for parents and carers of children aged 0-12 years. Registration is required and participants are welcome to bring their own interpreters.

For more information or to register over the phone call Relationships WA on 6164 0200.

Raising children in a new country and different culture can be a challenge. Parents may wonder how to respond when children ask for sandwiches rather than cultural meals, or how to navigate unfamiliar customs such as playdates and sleepovers.

The workshop will explore:

  • Culture and how it impacts your parenting

  • How culture is passed on to children

  • What parts of culture work well and not well in your family

  • How culture affects your child's identity and wellbeing

  • Decision making that works for your family's culture

Date: Tuesday 17 March 2026
Time: 6pm to 8.30pm
Location: Ken Jackman Hall - Ground floor next door to Kwinana Public Library
Note: Tea/Coffee and light refreshments will be available.

This is just one of the City events happening for Harmony Week. An opportunity for all Western Australians to celebrate our diversity while working to remove barriers that still exist in the community.
