Sip Share & Care - You're Invited!

Join us Wednesday, 29th April from 12 noon til 2pm at William Bertram Community Centre for our next Sip, Share & Care gathering. After the wonderful conversations sparked over the last couple of months around changing the narrative on ageism with a focus on "When Did I Become Background Noise" and “How Do You Take Your Tea?” we’re continuing our Purple Road Journey — this time with a fresh and curious lens for: "My Keys Still Fit the Lock" Through a poem or two we gently explore themes of ageism and elder abuse in a way that is creative, uplifting and full of heart. Now before you think “that sounds a bit heavy” trust me — it’s not. This is all about coming together, sharing a cuppa, having meaningful (and often surprisingly light!) conversations and creating a safe, welcoming space for anyone who might like to share a lived experience — or simply sit back and listen. …and as part of our 2026 Purple Road Trip right here in Kwinana, we’re not just sharing stories and sparking conversation — we’re also getting creative together. Throughout the year, we’ll be collaborating on a series of art pieces that reflect our voices, experiences and hopes, with plans to showcase them at local events and on significant days that shine a spotlight on ageism and elder abuse. It’s a beautiful way to turn conversation into expression and expression into awareness — one brushstroke, one story and one cuppa at a time. Bring along a small plate to share if you wish, it’s completely free, no registrations needed — just turn up as you are.
