Liquor Licensing

The Racing, Gaming and Liquor section of the  Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries is responsible for issuing liquor licences.

An application for a liquor licence must be accompanied by a Section 39 and Section 40 certificate from the local government.

These certificates demonstrate compliance with Environmental Health and Building legislation (Section 39) and City Planning matters (Section 40).

Gaming

The Racing, Gaming and Liquor section of the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries is responsible for issuing gaming permits.

An application for a gaming permit must be accompanied by a local government report to certify that the premises conforms with the Environmental Health and City Planning legislations.

A Council decision is required to authorise a Local Government Officer to provide this report. Please allow at least 90 days processing time.
