R2R – Battersby Road

Scope of Work: A 940m section of Battersby Road, starting from Anketell Road, is in urgent need of reconstruction due to inadequate road width for two-way traffic and significant pavement deterioration.

Road base Formation: The road base will be topped up as needed to form a crown and ensure a two-way crossfall to improve drainage and road safety.
Pavement Stabilisation: The pavement will be stabilized to a depth of 120mm using a mix of 3% bitumen and 1% cement to strengthen the base.
Wearing Course: A 30mm Dense Graded Asphalt (DGA) wearing course will be applied using 10mm stone to provide a durable and smooth road surface.

Project Limits: The rehabilitation will cover a 940m section of Battersby Road, starting from Anketell Road.

Objective: To reconstruct the road for safer two-way traffic, improve the pavement structure, and ensure long-term road durability.
