What is Shop Local?
Shop Local is all about ensuring money continues returning to our community. The easiest way for this to happen is to do exactly that, shop local. Sometimes called the ‘boomerang dollar‘ effect, shopping locally and supporting small business means more money is channelled back to the community, jobs stay local, and we all benefit.
It doesn’t matter how much you spend, and it doesn’t mean you have to make big changes to the way you shop. What matters is this question: “How can I Shop Local today?”. Whether it’s using local tradespeople, buying local produce, visiting a new café, or supporting local arts, sports and entertainment venues, or spreading the word, every Shop Local choice can make a meaningful difference.
