Educational Scholarship Program

The Town of Kwinana’s Scholarship Program aims to recognise the educational achievements of local students, and to encourage the attainment of Entry Level Qualifications and further education.

The scholarships are awarded to students entering years 8 ($300), 11 ($375) and 12 ($400), and to those students finishing year 12 and continuing with their education ($800). There will be approximately four scholarships available to each of these categories however this will be dependent on the number of suitable applications received.

Celebrating the Konnect magazineKwinana Youth Services is a free, confidential and non-judgmental agency for young people (and their families) living in the local community.

The service has been actively working in Kwinana since 1988 and is well supported by a dynamic and experienced team, and the Town's ongoing commitment to young people.

Council sponsors a range of high-energy vacation and after school activities that give young people an opportunity to participate, socialise and recreate in a positive and supported environment. The team is looking forward to continuing its support for all young people in the community.

Outreach Team

The Outreach Officer's role is to support young people between the ages of 12-18 years and their families. They work flexible hours to assist those in need.

The types of services offered are:
  • Information and support to young people;
  • Providing young people the opportunity to talk to people face to face;
  • Linking people into services that can assist with their specific needs; and
  • Advocating on behalf of young people when appropriate.
Some of the issues they can assist with are:
  • Health concerns
  • Accommodation
  • Legal issues
  • Relationships
  • Family problems
  • Centrelink issues
