Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED)
This new tool has been implemented by the Town of Kwinana to combat crime using environmental design solutions.
The idea is create a safer space for use by the public. The use of natural surveillance, well maintained grounds, clean and clear areas and the use of surveillance cameras and anti graffiti coatings will deter anti social behaviours due to the risk of being seen, challenged or caught.
Town of Kwinana staff are trained in the ideology of CPTED, and these principles will be applied to all environments.
