Children Services

In 2021, it is predicted that almost 40% of Kwinana's population will be under 21.

The Town works alongside and builds relationships with local community groups to provide a range of activities and services that reflect the diversity of children's interests, abilities and needs, and supports parental involvement in play, learning and care.

Literacy

The Better Beginnings Family Literacy Program is coordinated by the State Library of WA and delivered through public libraries to support parents as their child's first teacher.

A range of fun and exciting activities are also on offer for children. These include storytime sessions and numerous school holiday activities. A family reading area has also been set aside at the Library.

Free tutoring help is now available online to library members. School children can use the service at the library or at home.

Health

Child Health Nurses employed in Child Health Centres located within Kwinana offer advice and assistance in the areas of early childhood health and development.

Recreation

The Town has many parks and playgrounds throughout Kwinana to help encourage children to lead healthy active lifestyles.
