The Kwinana Library presented lucky winner, Max Barker, with a brand new iPod Touch recently as the result of a competition held in conjunction with the YourTutor program.

A free online tutoring resource, YourTutor is available to all student library members attending years four to twelve, and can be easily accessed with a valid library card number via the Town’s website or at the Kwinana Library.

The service offers help with various aspects of homework, including general questions and essays, allowing the child to receive instant responses from real-life people including certified teachers, professional tutors and graduates from Australian universities.

Following a three month holiday, competition winner Max Barker found the quality of his schoolwork had dropped due to the work he had missed, “I didn’t want some stranger coming to my house [to tutor me] so when I heard about YourTutor I jumped straight on … I asked what I needed to ask and I got an immediate answer.”

Max’s mother, Leanne, also found the service to be user friendly and of great benefit, with Max’s teacher noting an improvement in the quality of work Max had been submitting.

Max now urges other students to use this fantastic free service provided by the Town of Kwinana.
