The Town of Kwinana is extending an invitation to local secondary school aged children to submit applications to receive an Educational Scholarship for the 2012 school year.
The Town of Kwinana’s Scholarship Program aims to recognise the educational achievements of local students, and to encourage the attainment of Entry Level Qualifications and further education.
The scholarships are awarded to students entering years 8 ($300), 11 ($375) and 12 ($400), and to those students finishing year 12 and continuing with their education ($800). There will be approximately four scholarships available to each of these categories however this will be dependent on the number of suitable applications received.
Last year the Town of Kwinana generously invested approximately $8,000 in youth scholarships and this year it is set to increase to around $9,000, allowing the Town to assist with the financial requirements of youth education for more local families.
Scholarship submissions open Monday 29, August 2011 and close Friday, 23 September at 5pm. Application forms are available for download and can also be collected at most schools or by contacting the Town of Kwinana on 9439 0274 or via email.
